The mouse plays a minor role in the Witch's House quest as part of the security system in Nora T. Hagg's house. The mouse must be lured out of its hole with a piece of cheese, then given a magnet in order to open the door from the house to the garden.
This convoluted security system was installed by Professor Oddenstein, and is described in the witch's diary.
