The Ice Path is a path ascending up a mountain, in the Troll Country region of Gielinor. It has no purpose other than the part it plays during the ice diamond section of the Desert Treasure I quest and a location for a master cryptic clue on a master clue scroll. It is extremely dangerous, and players are advised not to enter unless prepared. The entrance to the path is barred with a gate and players may only pass if they have given the troll child a (chocolate) cake during the Desert Treasure I quest. After that, the player can freely go through the gate at any time. West of the Ice Gate is the entrance to Trollweiss Dungeon.
Because of the extremely cold conditions, players cannot run after passing the Ice Gate (although this effect can be countered by using stamina potions). The area's chill effect also drains your Hitpoints periodically by 1-2 and other stats in the same fashion by one. However, this effect stops draining your Hitpoints once you have only 1 left. Towards the end of the path, after defeating Kamil, players must use spiked boots on the ice shelf to be able to walk at all; however, they may still slip and fall several times, taking damage.

Success chance
The following success rates are provided by Jagex.
The chance of slipping on the ice path depends on your Agility level. Players are required to wear spiked boots to use the ice ledge to climb on the ice path. The slip check occurs every six seconds. Failing the Agility roll will deal damage that can kill you.
