Hellhounds are demonic dogs that are often given as a Slayer task to mid-to-high level players. Hellhounds are primarily killed for their hard clue scroll drops, as they drop them at a much higher rate compared to most other non-boss/superior monsters. As they are demonic, they are weak to demonbane weapons.
In order to be assigned them as a slayer task, the player must have 75 combat (unless it is not counted). Players with 91 Slayer may also kill Cerberus as an alternative to a hellhound task. Other alternatives include the skeleton hellhounds from Calvar'ion and Vet'ion, or reanimated hellhounds spawned by using Expert Reanimation on an ensouled hellhound head.
