Guthix rest

Guthix rest is a type of tea with 1-4 doses where each dose will:

• Heal 5 Hitpoints, which can also boost up to 5 above your HP level if you are at full health.
• Restore 5% energy
• Reduce venom to poison, or reduce poison damage by 1

Once Sanfew explains how players can make it during the One Small Favour quest, they unlock the ability to consume and make their own, requiring 18 Herblore.

Guthix rest is made by combining 2 guam leaves, a harralander, and a marrentill on a cup of hot water. Add one of the herbs to the cup while the rest of the herbs are in your inventory to automatically create a 3 dose Guthix Rest. The cup of hot water can be created by heating a cup of water on a range or fire. Alternatively, a bowl of water can be heated on a range or fire to create a bowl of hot water, which then may be poured into an empty cup, although this is far slower and more click-intensive.

If you do not have all of the herbs in your inventory when adding to the cup, the incomplete herb tea mix will be created. The remaining herbs can then be added in any order one at a time to this mix to create the 3 dose Guthix Rest. Adding incorrect herbs results in a warning that your tea will be ruined: if you choose to proceed it will produce a ruined herb tea.

Making it grants a total of 59 Herblore experience, with 14, 14.5, 15, 15.5 experience granted for the first, second, third, and fourth herbs, respectively.

Guthix rest can be decanted to create a 4 dose version. For example, when adding two Guthix Rest (3) together, the result will be a Guthix Rest (4) and Guthix Rest (2). Bob Barter at the Grand Exchange can perform this service for the player for free as well, with both noted and unnoted Guthix rests.

Guthix rest effectively functions as a potion, meaning players can use Guthix rests to heal during combat without delaying their attacks. Despite this, the amulet of chemistry has no effect when making the tea, nor will it consume any charges. Prescription goggles also do not have any effect when making the tea. Zahur can not make unfinished Guthix rests as she does with normal potions. The attack of a Ghast may also still turn it into rotten food (as is expected for any food item).

The following money making guide is available for Guthix rest:

• When first released, there was a bug that caused the tea to restore all of the user's hitpoints. The bug was quickly fixed.
• All doses of Guthix rest appear the same visually.
• In legacy duels at the Emir's Arena, Guthix rest counts as a drink, rather than food.
• If players attempt to make Guthix rest before starting One Small Favour, they will receive a message in their chatbox stating, "You have no idea what effect this would have."
• With all of the correct ingredients in your inventory, you can create the Guthix rest by using a cup of hot water on another cup of hot water.
• Using the herb on the cup/mixture and using the cup/mixture on the herb can produce different chatbox messages:
  • Using the herb on the cup of hot water gives, "You place the [herb] into the cup of hot water."
  • Using the cup of hot water on the herb gives, "You place the [herb] into the steamy mixture." This is the same message as when the second and third herbs are used with the mixture (in either order).
  • Completing the tea by using the herb on the mixture gives, "You place the [herb] into the steamy mixture and make Guthix Rest Tea."
  • Completing the tea by using the mixture on the herb gives, "You place the [herb] into the steamy mixture, you make some Guthix Rest Tea."
  • Ruining the tea by using an incorrect herb gives, "You place the [herb] into the steamy mixture, it ruins the tea."
