Captain Siad

Captain Siad is the man who controls the Desert Mining Camp, a harsh camp deep in the Kharidian Desert that takes prisoners from Al Kharid and has them work as slaves in the mines. Players must investigate Siad's room during The Tourist Trap, though he watches the player and distrusts them. However, once the player searches his bookcases and finds that he has an interest in sailing, they can distract him while he talks about his days at sea and find the Wrought iron key and the Cell door key. Sure enough, if a player searches the bookcase in his office, they will find the Sailing book.

After completion of the quest and with 50 Sailing, the player can return to Siad to recruit him as a crewmate. Siad will gladly take up the offer and abandon his post, becoming Ex-Captain Siad. The Metal key (or steel key ring if you've added the key to it) is required to access the camp again. You can kill the Mercenary Captain outside the gate entrance to obtain another key, so long as the key is not in your bank or on your steel key ring. Unequip your weapon and armour before entering the camp.
