The tanglefoot is the boss of Fairytale I - Growing Pains. It drops the Queen's secateurs, which are needed to complete the quest.
The tanglefoot boss is unique because players must use magic secateurs to damage it; it cannot be damaged by any other means, with the exception of a ring of recoil. If the player attempts to attack it with a different weapon, they will get a message saying "I can't deal any damage..." This also renders the tanglefoot immune to the effects of poison. When fighting the tanglefoot, the damage calculation takes into account both the player's Farming level in addition to their Strength level to determine the max hit of the magic secateurs.[1] The higher the player's Farming level, the higher their max hit will be on the tanglefoot.[2] The tanglefoot only attacks with melee, so using the Protect from Melee prayer is recommended.
It can be fought in the Nightmare Zone after the quest is complete.
