Scrawled notebook

*The book contains a number of scrawled diagrams and scratched out musings, documenting a long series of tests that have been performed on the sunstone monolith.*

I don't understand this stone at all. It's solid. So much so that it survived hitting the rock below it without shattering.

Despite that, I'm able to separate blocks from it with a pickaxe swing, and I can carve these blocks down with just a chisel.

There's enough evidence about to show that I'm far from the first to try this, yet the monolith itself lacks the scarring that years of usage would cause. I've not taken measurements, but I suspect it has some regenerative quality, though I've no way to know for sure.

There's also this inescapable feeling that I'm being watched by the monolith.

I can't see anything that would confirm it knows I'm here, but I can feel the hairs on the back of my neck stand on end so regularly whilst out here. It doesn't make sense, but this stone defies so many conventions...

I wonder if I'm approaching the limits of my knowledge here. Someone who'd been around a long time might know more, but there's only one place on this island where I'd find someone like that.
