Magic beans are a quest item used during the Grim Tales. They are given to the player by Sylas, an old man in Taverley who will exchange them for a griffin feather and Rupert's helmet. The beans can then be planted in a special farming patch in Taverley to grow a giant beanstalk. This patch has a nearby sign that when examined says that on the patch farming is prohibited.
Unless the bare-handed planting section of Barbarian Training has been completed, a seed dibber is required to plant the beans.

- When talking to Sylas before starting the quest, he will not sell you any beans, but will still ask you to buy them.
