The Mad skavid is a Skavid that has become deranged, either through being worked too hard by his Ogre masters or through some torture, and is found in a cave in the heart of Gu'Tanoth.
During the Watchtower quest, the player must speak to the Skavid in his native language, at which point he will say "Hehe! So you speak a little Skavid, eh? I'll give you a prize for that!" and give the player one of the crystals needed to power the Watchtower and complete the quest.
If you enter the hole inside the Mad skavid's cave, you will appear from the hole inside Yanille next to the north wall by the wheat field, with a chatbox message saying "So that's how the skavids are getting into Yanille!"
