Watchtower (building)

The Watchtower is a fortified defensive structure situated on the northern wall of Yanille. Its primary purpose is to defend the city from the ogres that inhabit the nearby Feldip Hills. After completion of its eponymous quest, it can be accessed directly by casting Watchtower Teleport.

• Casting Watchtower Teleport or using a Watchtower teleport tablet. Both require completion of Watchtower quest to use.
• Using the Minigame Teleport spell or the Grouping teleport to Nightmare Zone, then running west. (Only available when the requirements for Nightmare Zone are met).
• Casting Teleport to House or using a Teleport to house tablet if your player-owned house is in Yanille, then using the underwall tunnel to climb under the northern wall (requires 16 Agility).

The Watchtower was built to defend the city of Yanille, which is situated very close to the Feldip Hills. This has led to numerous attacks, usually by the ogres that inhabit the area and continue to push their way further into southern Kandarin.

The tower is managed by the Watchtower Wizards, who operate the magical generator on the tower's top floor. A number of watchmen also protect the tower from invaders.

The Watchtower is protected by a magical generator, which is fuelled by a number of powerful crystals. During the Watchtower quest, the player must recover these crystals, which have been stolen by the ogres.

A fountain is located beside the Watchtower.

• Once the Watchtower quest is completed, the 2^nd floor^[UK]3^rd floor^[US] is actually in a separate map area and the original 2^nd floor^[UK]3^rd floor^[US] in the main world map becomes inaccessible. Interestingly, in this new map, the bottom two floors are copied but are also inaccessible, as going down the ladder takes the player to the 1^st floor^[UK]2^nd floor^[US] in the main world map.
