Keg of beer

A keg of beer is a large barrel of ale that restores 15 Hitpoints and temporarily boosts Strength by 10% +2, while draining Attack by 50% + 5 (see table below).

It can be bought in the Rellekka Longhall for 325 coins, provided that the player has completed The Fremennik Trials quest. It can also be bought from the merchant Rasolo for 500 coins, who is north of Ardougne near Baxtorian Falls. A special keg of beer can be found on the table in the longhall, which is swapped out with a low alcohol keg during The Fremennik Trials in order to win the drinking contest.

Upon drinking it, the chatbox states, "You chug the keg. You feel reinvigorated... ...but extremely drunk, too." while the player character raises the keg above their head and chugs the entire barrel. This also causes the perspective of the player's screen to swing back and forth for a minute, as if their character is drunk. This can be stopped by teleporting.

Kegs of beer can also be sold to Askeladden on Waterbirth Island. He will buy them for 500 before The Fremennik Trials and 700 after. He will not buy noted kegs of beer, however.

Note that Attack level cannot be negative, so drinking a Keg of Beer with an Attack level between 1 and 10 will temporarily debuff the Attack level to 0. At level 99, Attack will be lowered down to level 45.

• Beer kegs are also one of the few edible items that have a unique consumption animation. Unlike most drinks, when a player drinks a beer keg they can be seen tipping the barrel back with both hands.
• When the player attempts to drink a keg of beer whilst on the Fishing Trawler, they will receive a message saying "With my sea sickness? You must be joking!"
  • However, they can drink the keg perfectly fine on their own boat.
