The Iorwerth Clan is one of the eight elven clans who were originally brought to Gielinor from Tarddiad by Guthix and Seren in the early First Age. They are a clan of skilled warriors and monster slayers, tasked with protecting their fellow elves.[1] They are located south-west of the Tower of Voices in Prifddinas, off the southern path.
In the Fourth Age, their leader, Lady Iorwerth, was secretly murdered by her son, Lord Iorwerth, who initiated the Elven Civil War by seizing the Tower of Voices in Prifddinas.[2][3] The war caused the deaths of many elves and made the Iorwerth Clan an enemy to the other clans, who believed that Lord Iorwerth had turned to follow Zamorak.[4] In truth, Lord Iorwerth had learned of the Fragment of Seren and, believing it to be Seren herself, sought to free it.
In the Fifth Age, they allied with King Lathas of Ardougne to get access to the Mourner Tunnels and search for the Temple of Light, where the Fragment of Seren was sealed.[5] During the events of Song of the Elves, Lord Iorwerth was killed and replaced with Lord Iestin Iorwerth, who has sought to repair his clan's relationship with the other elves.
Features of the clan district
- A cave entrance that leads down to the Iorwerth Dungeon, a training ground used by the Iorwerth Clan that contains various Slayer monsters.
- Iorwerth's Arms, a sword shop run by Celyn, which also sells halberds.
- Aneirin's Armour, a platebody shop run by Aneirin. He can also repair Barrows equipment.
- A small fight arena with two gladiators fighting, though players cannot enter and fight them.
