The holy wrench is a reward for partially completing the Rum Deal quest. If players have it in their inventory when they drink or share a prayer potion, prayer mix, super restore potion, super restore mix, blighted super restore, or Sanfew serum, they will regain additional Prayer points, depending on their Prayer level. The wrench does not work with Moonlight moths nor its mixes.

When held in the player's inventory, the holy wrench increases the amount of Prayer points restored when drinking a dose of certain prayer restoring potions by an additional 2% of your prayer level. This means that each dose of a potion will restore 27% or 32% of your prayer on top of the base restore of 7, 8, or 4, instead of 25% or 30%.^[1] All numbers are rounded down to the closest integer.

Both the Prayer cape and the ring of the gods (i) provide the same effect as the holy wrench; however, the effects do not stack. Prayer regeneration potions, moonlight moths, moonlight moth mixes, Moonlight potions, Ancient brews, Forgotten brews, and Zamorak brews do not benefit from this effect.

If lost, the holy wrench can be re-obtained by talking to Davey in the brewery on Braindeath Island. You will not be able to receive another holy wrench if you already have one in your inventory or your bank. Multiple wrenches may be obtained via the drop trick method.

The holy wrench is required to imbue the ring of the gods into the ring of the gods (i), along with the appropriate amount of Nightmare Zone reward points, Soul Wars Zeal, or a scroll of imbuing from the Emir's Arena. This does not consume the wrench.

This calculator determines whether bringing a Holy wrench is more inventory-efficient than bringing an extra potion. Enter your prayer level and how many of each potion you are bringing, and it will show whether the wrench outperforms an extra potion slot.

As the holy wrench's direct effect is minimal, it is often more beneficial to use the inventory slot for another prayer potion. However, the wrench can instead be used to save prayer potions for cost effectiveness in situations where extra inventory slots are not needed. The boosted prayer restoration is given to all affected players when casting Stat Restore Pot Share when the caster is holding the wrench.

Depending on the player's Prayer level and whether they are using prayer potions, super restores or Sanfew serums, the holy wrench may save more prayer points than another potion would. For maximum prayer restoration capacity, the formula: pn+1=s can be used, where p is the amount restored per dose (without the wrench), n is the extra prayer points from the wrench, and s is the amount of potions needed where replacing one with a wrench does not matter for capacity; if there are more slots available for prayer potions than s, a wrench may be used for higher capacity.

At 99 Prayer, the holy wrench begins to restore more prayer points per inventory than just potions when the player uses 17 inventory spaces or more: 16 prayer potions with a wrench restores more prayer points than 17 prayer potions, whereas 15 prayer potions and a wrench restores fewer prayer points than 16 prayer potions. With the +2 bonus, bringing 12 prayer potions and the holy wrench provides as much prayer restoration as bringing 13 prayer potions, and with the +1 bonus, bringing 24 prayer potions and the holy wrench provides as much as 25 prayer potions.
