Giant rats are a variant of giant rats used exclusively on Tutorial Island. They are the first monster a player will defeat in Old School RuneScape, as Vannaka will task them with defeating one.
Two variants of Tutorial Island giant rats exist in the cache but are not used in-game. Another variant was used for an alternate version of Tutorial Island available to some players in 2020.
