The fissure entrance to the temple of Ah Za Rhoon in Karamja is revealed by using a spade on the mound of earth during the Shilo Village quest.
Once revealed, a lit torch, candle, or candle lantern can be used on it to drop it into the fissure to see that is a large drop and to find an anchor point for a rope. Once a rope is used on it and attached, the fissure can be searched to crawl through the hole and down below into the temple.
After quest completion, a lit light source is no longer required to be used on the fissure to enter the temple.
