The Draugen is a monster encountered during The Fremennik Trials quest that players must defeat to gain council member Sigli's vote. It can only be found using a Hunters' talisman given by Sigli. This works like a talisman, telling the player where to travel to find the Draugen.
It will periodically move around, where it can be anywhere from the river leading to Rellekka by the Council workman spanning all the way east, and in the forest area east of Rellekka. Players must stand on the correct tile whilst using the Hunters' talisman to fight the Draugen. Depending on where it is found, it may be lured behind a tree stump and safespotted. After a while, it will teleport far from its last location, which gives the player the message in their chatbox, The Draugen has moved elsewhere.... A common strategy to find it quickly is by waiting in a specific location until it is nearby, usually by the river. World switching may also help. Before he is found, he takes the form of a grey butterfly with the examine text of "Flutter by oh butterfly." Note there are multiple of these butterflies, and only one of which is the The Draugen.
The Draugen is considered undead and thus is affected by the salve amulet. However, Crumble Undead has no effect. Despite its +500 magic defence bonus, its Magic level of 1 and 50% elemental weakness against wind spells makes Magic the best method of killing it, followed by melee, with ranged being the least effective option. It despawns if it is not killed within ten minutes.

Trivia
- The Draugen is based on Draugr, an undead creature from Norse mythology.
- If a player drops their talisman(s) before defeating Draugen, a new talisman will appear in their inventory.
- If a player tries to locate Draugen again with a dropped talisman, it will be destroyed.
- If a player drops their talisman after defeating Draugen, Sigli will give them a new talisman and instruct them to hunt him again. Warning: This will reset your progress on the hunt. Picking up the talisman and talking to Sigli again will not work.
- Strangely enough, it's possible to hold both "charged" and "uncharged" talismans with you. Uncharged ones allow you to locate and defeat Draugen again. Using a charged talisman will prompt a message "You have already captured the Draugen."
