Darts

Darts are one of the standard groups of metal ranged weapons. They are a members only thrown weapon that target a monster's light ranged defence. They can be fletched by members with the required Fletching level. However, in order to smith dart tips, the player must have the required Smithing level and completed the Tourist Trap quest. They are made from dart tips and feathers and have an attack range of 3 tiles, 5 with longrange. They can be poisoned and are one-handed, so they can be wielded along with a shield or god book for protection.

Darts, alongside throwing knives, are the quickest ranged weapons in the game making them a fairly popular weapon for Ranged training. The only difference between darts and throwing knives is that knives have small ranged accuracy bonuses, have a slightly longer attack range (4/6 tiles), and are stronger than their dart counterparts; however knives are generally more expensive and traded less often compared to darts.

Darts may be used to load blowpipes as ammunition, which increases ranged accuracy and ranged strength. Unpoisoned darts may be used to load a toxic blowpipe which, as well as increasing ranged accuracy and ranged strength, has a 25% chance to envenom the target.

The below table prices assume darts dropped on the ground after throwing are not recovered.
