The Varrock east bank, also known as Varrock east or the East Varrock bank, is a popular bank found south of the Varrock Museum.
The bank was once a very popular place to buy and sell items from other players before the introduction of the Grand Exchange. Some of the more common items that were sold here were rune essence and player killing goods such as food, lower levelled weapons and armour, runes, and potions.
The bank has a 1st floor[UK]2nd floor[US], although there are no bankers or booths on it. This level is sometimes used as a quieter alternative to the floor below.
There is a Deadman chest in the bank.
Historical timeline
- In January 2001, only one bank existed in RuneScape, the Varrock west bank. At the time, only coins could be deposited.
- In August of the same year, the Varrock east bank was added to reduce crowding in Varrock. By this time, banks had been change to store a total of up to 48 items.
