Saradomin Strike is a combat spell in the standard spellbook, requiring 60 Magic and the completion of Mage Arena I to cast. In addition, players must also be wielding a Saradomin staff or staff of light; only the staff of light is able to autocast the spell.

Initially, the spell can only be cast within the Mage Arena against the battle mages. Upon casting the spell 100 times (regardless of whether it was a successful hit or not), the spell becomes usable outside the arena.

Saradomin Strike has a maximum hit of 20. Upon a successful hit, this spell lowers the enemy's Prayer points by 1. This can be effective in PvP activities. Like other prayer draining attacks, it doesn't affect nearly all NPCs as most do not have prayer points. However, this does drain the prayer points of Elite Black Knights, although this cannot be seen by the player.

Like the other god spells, the maximum hit is temporarily increased to 30 while the Charge spell is active and the respective god cape is worn.

Note that since Saradomin Strike requires a Saradomin staff or staff of light, rune-providing staves cannot be used. However, a tome of fire can be worn to provide infinite fire runes. This does not grant the damage boost from the tome and will not consume its charges.
