Rotten diary, titled Mouldy Diary, is an item obtained during the quest The Blood Moon Rises by chopping down one of the darkwood trees in the darkwood tree room on a peninsula south of the main path through the room.
Upon completion of the Sotfa Forest segment of The Blood Moon Rises it cannot be obtained if missed, and cannot be reobtained if dropped. It cannot be stored in or obtained from the bookcase of the player's house.

I found an unusual creature in the forest by the name of Crabidor Rank. He seemed tasty enough at first, but we've all fallen sick since eating him. To make matters worse, all of our blood stores have begun to rot into a sickly mush.
Perhaps this is another of House Drakan's plots. They call us savages, but wage biological warfare on us from afar. Lowerniel proved his might once before, but has retired to a life of cowardice.
It will not last. The glint in his eyes as he slaughtered his fellows cannot be left behind. House Drakan is built on the back of a slumbering, rabid, venator. One day that venator will wake with centuries of hunger repressed and the so called civilised Houses of Vampyrium will tremble. He would always have made a better Ghrazi.Trivia
