Neilan's journal is a book written by Neilan Redmark, a necromancer from the mainland who travelled to Great Kourend.
This book can be obtained by searching the skeleton in the Headless Beast's Lair during the Getting Ahead quest or from the bookcase in a player-owned house.

Blast those pompous Arceuus mages! They say I don't have what it takes. I'll show them!
They're just all arrogant. They think you have to be immortal to be good at anything. They're wrong.
By the time I'm done, they'll be begging me to show them my secrets!
I may have taken a little trip to the library last night. You'd think those 'all-seeing' fools would have plans in place to stop the 'unworthy'. Clearly not.
I managed to make off with a few of their restricted tomes without them even knowing. Now the fun begins.
The cities are too busy for my little experiments, so I've found somewhere a bit quieter. A nice cave off the beaten track, far from anyone who might interfere.
Best of all, there's no shortage of corpses in the swamps for me to work with.
Success! It took days of trying, but I've managed to fully reanimate the body of a rat. Not much to shout about yet I realise, but big things have small beginnings.
Before long, Neilan the Necromancer will be a name known across all the land!
While an army of rats is tempting, I think it's time for me to move on to bigger things.
On my way to the cave this morning I went past the body of a bear. Probably the work of the lizardman. If I can get it to the cave, it will make for a great new test subject.Gallery
