The Judge of Yama is a demon encountered during the A Kingdom Divided quest. It is summoned by Sophia Hughes in an attempt to dispose of the player and Commander Fullore, but it killed Sophia as she had betrayed the trust of Yama, her master.

The Judge of Yama is using the Protect from Missiles and Magic prayers simultaneously, and is also immune to the Ancient godsword special attack, all forms of recoil, and both poison and venom. It thus must be fought with Melee. It will also use melee attacks, and can occasionally teleport players farther away down the docks followed by throwing fire waves that take up 3 squares, similarly to the tsunami attack by Galvek. As the pier is 4 squares wide, players can avoid it by going to the side with the gap and making their way back to the Judge of Yama. This will be repeated until it is defeated.

When fighting the demon, the best tactic is to use the Protect from Melee prayer and tank the flames until you get in melee range. After this, he will not attack you with flames until he teleports you away, simply dodge the flames to get back in melee range or tank them if you are able to. Repeat this process until it is defeated.

The Judge of Yama is considered a greater demon for the purpose of a Slayer task. As the Judge of Yama is a demon, demonbane weapons can be used to effectively defeat it.

• The demon takes the player to a dark, shadowy version of the Port Piscarilius docks when fighting them, and shadow hands can be seen emerging from the waters around the dock. This may indicate that the player is taken into the Shadow Realm to fight the demon.
  • Identical shadow hands can be seen coming out of the water in the Grimstone Dungeon when wearing a ring of visibility or ring of shadows, further supporting this.
