Jhallan is a Zarosian Mahjarrat first encountered in the Secrets of the North quest. Another encounter ensues during the Desert Treasure II quest.

Jhallan is a Mahjarrat who arrived at Gielinor alongside his fellow kin to partake in the Kharidian–Zarosian War. At some point after the war, Jhallan decided to avoid taking an active role in Mahjarrat affairs. When Duke Sucellus went mad and started consuming the inhabitants of Ghorrock, Jhallan worked with Mizzarch to seal the prison to ensure he would not escape.^[1] After this, he encased himself in ice near the Ritual Site in order to gain power without partaking in it.^[2] Jhallan decided to remain with the Zarosians, something which coupled with his refusal to appear in-person during the rituals caused Hazeel to note that he did not have many friends left. However, he had a nightmare and subsequently transformed into a Muspah.^[3]

During the events of Secrets of the North, an adventurer tasked by Hazeel and General Khazard discovered the Muspah inside the cave and defeated it. Jhallan returned to his original form and noticed them, but before he could question them, was taken away by an assassin.

Jhallan was eventually able to escape the assassin's grasp and locked him in a cell in Ghorrock Prison. When the adventurer returned to look for Duke Sucellus, they sprung one of his traps, teleporting them into a cell and confiscating their gear. The adventurer discovered the assassin, who told them that Jhallan was suspicious of their motives.^[4] The adventurer navigated throughout the entire prison, which he took notice of and tried to stop them to no avail. The assassin later had a plan to lure Jhallan to the refugee camp area of the prison with fireworks, which got his attention. The adventurer then stalled Jhallan long enough for the assassin to freeze him in a block of ice again, which the assassin believed should hold him, and it is presumed that he remains frozen in the prison. Jhallan did not appear to be aware that the assassin was actually Sliske in disguise.

• In RuneScape 3, Jhallan is met during the events of Tale of the Muspah. In both games, he took on the form of a muspah after having a nightmare, and he is sealed back in ice. However, he is not as aggressive in RuneScape 3, as he doesn't outright attack the player like he does in Old School RuneScape.
