Farmer Fred

Fred the Farmer is an agriculturalist that features in the Sheep Shearer, One Small Favour, and Cold War quests. Players can find Fred at the farmhouse north-west of Lumbridge, south of the windmill and to the west of the Lumbridge sheep pen. His farm is where you can find onions, which can be hard to find, especially for non-members.

If the player talks to him and says that they have seen the "Thing" (which is actually just two penguins), he will start to go on about grabbing chickens and running to the hills. In the end, the player will say that it is two penguins disguised as a sheep. He will ask if the player is feeling alright.

During the One Small Favour quest, the player asks Fred to give a large chicken supply from the H.A.M. leader Johanhus Ulsbrecht in order to free Jimmy the Chisel, who is likely related to Fred. But having a small amount of chickens on his farm, he directs the player to Seth Groats, who has many more chickens. Fred is also is one of three NPCs not to ask a favour. The second is Captain Shanks, who simply refuses to do favours and makes you do it yourself. The third is Gnormadium Avlafrim, who does not ask because he does not think you are capable of doing it.
