The experiment cave is a cave first accessed during the quest Creature of Fenkenstrain, and is used by players to train melee skills. By pushing the easternmost memorial, players may enter the experiment caves below.
Transportation
- Fenkenstrain's castle teleport
- Fairy ring code ALQ, then run north-west
- Kharyrll teleport to Canifis, then run north-east
- Ectophial teleport to the Ectofuntus, then run west
Surface level
The experiment cave can be accessed from the small graveyard found south-east of Fenkenstrain's Castle. The graveyard contains four graves of unknown persons, presumably followers of Zaros based on their headstones. The small graveyard contains two graves and two memorials. Unlike the crude, wooden graves found throughout the Haunted Woods, such as the grave of Ed Lestwit which players must find during the Creature of Fenkenstrain quest, these graves are elaborate and contain ornate headstones, being described in-game as ostentatious.
Cave level
The cave is known for containing level 25 experiments, which have low defence and an unusually high amount of health for their level, making them a good way to train combat. Many players choose to train their melee skills in this cave.
During Creature of Fenkenstrain players have to kill a level 51 experiment to obtain the cavern key to the northern gate in the cave, which leads to the Mausoleum. This step does not need to be completed to train on the monsters within, and players only need access the cave to start training in it.
