The device is used by Glough to fuse power for his mutagen during the Monkey Madness II quest, it is located in Glough's Laboratory within Kruk's Dungeon. During the quest, the player must tamper with the device, in order to obtain the charged onyx which powers it. The onyx can then be cut into a deconstructed onyx using a chisel, which can be placed back into the device in order to corrupt the mutagen.
