Dead tree (Mountain Daughter)

Dead tree is a type of tree found north of the Mountain Camp blocking the entrance to The Kendal's lair. The trees must be passed during Mountain Daughter in order to enter the cave and fight The Kendal.

The only trees that can actually be chopped down with an axe are the two directly blocking the path to the cave entrance. Upon chopping down the tree, it will be replaced by a tree stump and the player will step over the stump. This prints the message The dead wood splinters into useless pieces. and awards no logs and no experience. The tree will respawn after a few seconds.

If the player is stuck behind the tree after it respawns and has no axe, a chatbox message appears that says Oops, you seem to be stuck behind the trees with no axe! Do you wish to desperately try to rush your way out?, followed by a confirmation. If accepted, the player will walk through the trees and be dealt a small amount of damage, and messages are printed You close your eyes and start running! followed by You eventually end up on the other side of trees..

The other two variants of dead trees cannot be chopped down. If the player has an axe and attempts to chop the tree, a message is printed saying There is nothing to gain from chopping down this tree..
