Annakarl was one of Zaros' fortresses that was located in what is now the Wilderness. It was captured in the early Third Age by Saradominist forces, with the forces of Zaros making multiple failed attempts to reclaim it.[1] Commander Zilyana, an Icyene commander of the Saradominist forces, was likely injured during the battle in Annakarl, leading to the creation of Saradomin's tear.[2][3] At some point during the God Wars, the fortress was destroyed.

The last known location of Lamistard, a Mahjarrat who betrayed Zaros, is also the former fortresses of Annakarl.[4]

The Demonic Ruins in level 47 Wilderness are all that remains of Annakarl today, and they remain the destination of the Annakarl Teleport Ancient Magicks spell.
