The Varrock anvil building[1] is a building found just south of the Varrock west bank. The building houses the closest anvil to a bank in free-to-play, and the master smithing tutor can also be found there.
Bob the Cat is known for getting stuck in this building; as such, players completing A Tale of Two Cats are recommended to visit the building when trying to locate him. A common tactic is to head to the building and then hop worlds until he is found.
Trivia
- The nearby bank was the first bank in RuneScape, but on release, it could only store coins. It was not until the bank was updated to hold other items that the spot became as viable for training Smithing.
- In the skills manual from 2001, the area was referred to as a forge, despite the lack of a furnace.
