Four Structural pillars are in the room where the Ancient Guardian is fought during the Below Ice Mountain quest. When a pillar is mined, it changes into a Broken pillar, the ancient guardian receives damage, and the player receives 10 mining experience.
Mining the pillars enables skill pures to complete the quest without obtaining combat experience.
