Squire's journal

*This journal appears to have once belonged to a squire to Ivandis Seergaze. Most of it appears to contain nothing of note, but Ivan has clearly marked the final entry.*

Ivandis has gone. His last duty is what he called it. Duty? More like suicide. To kill Lowerniel Drakan? It didn't make sense. The Salve had been blessed. The war had been won. Why did he need to go and kill Drakan? The truth soon became clear.

Before he left, Ivandis tasked us with building a temple over the source of the Salve. However, to me, he had an additional request. He gave me a book. Inside he'd documented the events leading up to the Salve being blessed. He told me it must be preserved. That it was my job to do so.

I never should have opened it. I never should have discovered the truth of what they did. What he did. And yet, this was his final request of me. I can't destroy it, no matter how much I'd like to. Instead, I will ensure it remains hidden. I will hide it within the very temple we are to build, so that only the worthy can find it: Those who stand by the word that the rest of the warriors swore.
