The sandwich lady is a random event. She appears anywhere to offer players a selection from her tray of food. Players have to be sure to take the one she offers.
She can offer the following foods:
- Baguette
- Triangle sandwich
- Square sandwich
- Chocolate bar
- Kebab
- Roll
- Meat pie
Players can obtain the sandwich lady's outfit as a rare reward from beginner clue scroll treasure trails. The outfit is purely cosmetic with no bonuses.
The sandwich lady has a 1/64 chance of giving a stale baguette whenever she offers a baguette.
During Desert Treasure II - The Fallen Empire, the Mysterious Figure can disguise herself as the sandwich lady; she will immediately attack the player if they attempt to dismiss her or talk to her.

Trivia
- The sandwich lady, including her appearance and temperament, was based on a lady who used to sell sandwiches at Jagex's office, suddenly interrupting work to sell sandwiches.[1]
- Before the September 2014 random events update, if players chose the wrong pastry, the Sandwich lady would hit them with a baguette and teleport them to a random area.
- A variant of the sandwich lady could be seen in the Eastern Lands during the 2014 April Fools event.
- The roll in the sandwich lady's food tray still uses its old appearance that more closely resembles bread.
- Over the years, there have been occasional reports of the sandwich lady offering seven baguettes in her tray, but no other refreshments. This has been confirmed to be a bug, seemingly caused by the underlying menu failing to set up correctly.[2][3]
