Ancient rings

The Ancient rings are upgraded versions of the Fremennik rings that offer the highest attack and strength bonuses in various different combat stats. They are created by imbuing the icons of broken down Fremennik rings (obtained from the Dagannoth kings), with vestiges and bars dropped by the post-quest bosses of Desert Treasure II - The Fallen Empire. The vestiges are not tradeable, but the completed ancient rings are.

In order to wield the ring, the player must obtain at least one kill count from their respective boss, which is done during the quest. Attempting to wield them otherwise will result in the message The ring slips off your finger. The power within it seems unfamiliar.

To create them, the player must speak to Peer the Seer about combining ring icons. Combining an icon with its corresponding vestige requires 500 Blood Runes, as well as 90 Magic and 80 Crafting, both of which may be boosted. The player must then bring the upgraded icon, a ring mould, and three chromium ingots (also dropped by the post-quest bosses of Desert Treasure II) along with the same 90 Magic and 80 Crafting requirement (still boostable) to a furnace to make the finished product.

Despite the rings being made from prominent Zarosian beings, they do not provide protection against Zarosian forces within the God Wars Dungeon.
