The abyssal rift is a portal that leads into the Scar, an area of Abyssal Space. Found within the Temple of the Eye, it is periodically closed as part of the Guardians of the Rift minigame.
During Desert Treasure II, the player is teleported by the Catalytic Guardian into the Scar itself, where they learn of the fates of Mia Persten and Perseriya, as well as battle against the Leviathan.
